The BOBO-WING crew has returned from a shooting banasa in sweden.. And is now over there ears in editing footage. Yep A documentary on the life and creative endeavors of composer Ann-Lena Laurin. A feature TV documentary amazing.

Meanwhile the PERF LADIES (Meredith Edwards, Leah Bachar, Lin Laurin, and Maria Aparo Merritt) have 60 hours left on their kick starter.. Raising over there expected 7 grand to almost 10 grand shooting starts in a little over a month. Perf Productions is a Brooklyn based Theater and Production Company, and they have decided to work with almost the entire loft crew. I will be the lighting designer, Wing will be the cinematographer and editor, Lin is one of the creative producers and playing one of the supporting charters, Jeff is doing the sound design, and Jillian the hair and make-up design. Reed Young (who not is a reel loft member but farts around here often enough to almost be one) has been doing behind the scene photography and promotional pictures.

We are trying to reach at least $10 000 by Saturday at 6 PM. Go to kickstarter and pledge before it's too late, there are great rewards and we truly believe that we are working on a great production. Since filming is expensive we need all the support we can get, to make this show that we think will blow you away as good as we want it to be.

Perf Productions seeks Costume Designer

Perf Productions is seeking a Costume Designer, for their original multimedia production, DEGENERATION X. Degeneration X uses live performance, film/video, graphic design, and music to chronicle the different pockets of one man's neurosystem through his journey with a rare syndrome which causes him to hallucinate. The aesthetics of this show are of utmost importance; you have lots of freedom to play and be creative. We are looking for designers to create strong visual concepts for each character.

We are also looking for crewmembers for this production.

If this sounds interesting to you, please join us at our Sneak Preview Event: a staged reading, trailer premiere, and sample of the visual footage, musical score and art gallery. There will be a meet & greet directly following with the cast and crew. Beer, wine, and h'ordeuvres will be provided. This is a promotional, networking opportunity for you and us, to see if it's a good fit. There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door.

As Xavier drives through his condition, the audience takes front seat on a surreal and stimulating ride through the human mind. Degeneration X experiments with the light, the dark, the absurd, and the unexplainable aspects of the human condition.

"Since the BP oil well explosion nearly five months ago (only being officially sealed days ago), media coverage of the disaster has repeatedly shown us hazy images of a gushing wellhead underwater, skimmer ships floating along the stained Gulf waters and stretches of sand-filled barricades attempting to protect hundreds of miles of beaches. Even though this picture has been delivered with searing accuracy, what hasn’t been depicted is the incredible damage that has been inflicted onto both the local ecology and the population of the Gulf’s fishing industries. Now a new beautiful and disarming art exhibit hopes to convey a deeper and more textured view of communities in the Gulf Coast, particularly as compared to what has thus far been portrayed in the media. Mired in the Bayou is an art project and upcoming exhibit in NYC which focuses on the struggles of Alabama’s seafood capital Bayou La Batre and its community’s battle to overcome the effects of an oil spill that has managed to pit once proud compatriots against one another for BP’s “free” money.

In light of this turmoil, Michael De Pasquale, Reed Young and Erin Sheehy traveled to the small fishing community of Bayou La Batre in July of 2010 to document the effects of the disaster. With their project Mired in the Bayou the trio chronicle the lives of ten unique individuals residing in Bayou La Batre, each of whom have been affected by the spill. But rather than unveiling the narrative of a single tragedy, the trio explores a complete community dynamic burdened by repeated catastrophe. Through a distinct three-person perspective, Mired in the Bayou blends the artists’ divergent styles to create a singular portraiture project consisting of twenty photographs and accompanying text and audio. From their efforts arises an arresting juxtaposition of images and text fragments that, as a whole, are able to creating a much more unlikely and much more complete portrait of the lives affected by the BP oil spill."

FLUX. Loft 910 closes the summer with a brand new multimedia exhibition featuring the work of resident loft members and their friends. Sited in the 910 Gallery space, each participating artist will display his or her work as it relates to the theme of FLUX. An idea wide open to interpretation in any context, this show parallels the sentiment maintaining no constraints with respect to concept, production or presentation – boundaries will exist only in the form of an individual's creativity and thought.

The Gallery Space will open on September 17th with a small gathering, and end on the 25th with a closing party. During the week everyone is invited to come to visit the loft and view the artwork on display.

Opening: Friday, September 17th 6pm-10pm

Gallery Hours: Saturday September 18th -Friday September 24th 6-8 pm

Situational irony of life - you go jfk to drop someone who is close to you in the departures and then come around in the stream of taxi cabs, buses and town cars around to pick up someone who is close to you in the arrivals. I try to ride my bike as often as possible, but certain circumstances call for the subway. Somedays I spend entire days underground. Waiting. Transfers. More waiting. Delays. Pushy people, slow walkers, complete stoppers, beggars, crazies, hoods, suits, religious talkers. The smell of urine, fish, trash. An old man stares at me. A gay man eye-fucks me. Loud school kids giggle, complain, gossip. Lovers embrace, kiss non-stop. Babies cry. A man reads the newspaper his neighbor holds. Bad music issues loudly from headphones. Faces hide behind smartphones, books, games. A fat man yells about how women ain't no good. Nobody cares.

Five o'clock— Penn Station: madhouse. 34th Street: tourist infestation. Walking up and down the same stairs all day. Losing metrocards. Standing on a platform, pacing and hot. A twenty minute wait. The train is full, every single car. One giant people sandwich. Faces angry, bored, stressed, tired, sad, fidgety. It's a lovely summer day yet there is profound silence beneath the ground, where the only sound uttered is from the trains themselves.

Then a group of three young Jamaican men play a tune for the car on a set of congas. It is a solid groove, passionately committed. People smile again. They tap their feet. Applaud, drop money into a hat. Soon, the smiles fade. Back to home, back to sleep.

World Naked Bike Ride NYC celebrates a future free of indecent exposure to the toxic world of auto and oil dependence with a second year participating in the international event. Repetition calms me down, I draw when i half to think or when i am having a conversation.

this way i don't passe around the room and make people uncomfortable, they just think i am not paying attention. I find it hard to look at people if i am having a good conversation i rather look at nothing and listen to there voice, it's inflection and tone. This can tell you a lot about some one. If they have a nice voice and good conversation i attempt black. Think of a black room with just a voice and as they speak images will come and go from the space. This is delightful.

Some where there is a blue couch in a blue room i can never recall exactly where it is but i find my self there form time to time at first i admire then i become captivated staring deep in to its sea of calm, in the far distance from tune a piano sounds waving and whispering in a slow tempting spin of a mayrygoround i sinking slowly in it's to arms and fall helpless for a dream
I remind my self don't hold your breath you will drown, take water's wind in feel it fill your lungs and course your vanes let it saturate you. For a moment i look out the window for which i have come with no remorse i turn and swim in to the endless nothing knowing it's a short stay in the arms of the deep blue for one needs the other as all forces do existing only to define the other. In the infinitely divisible tones ones mind search for a line to be drawn but we know there is never any lines only endless tones and shades we divid up our worlds with emanagery lines we must learn to the love the undetermined to the feel and trust the indivisible one feels safety in lines to control mark to define to sepreat yes-no on-off right-worng no longer a beast that wonders with the wind as its guide we are all subject to the confinements of logic for the safety and existence of both the undefinable and the defined we are bound to creation.

Damp and cold I attempt to dry my self the steam is making it way through the pipes of a grand studio banging and nocking i think of all the little particles that define the consinsity of the pipes expanding with violence and micro revolutions. The steam millions of workers trapped in the maze of labor heating our boxes and turning our turbines. Searching every possibility to escape there confinements bit by bit the steam frees it self in to the air at last in to the natural world to changing form freely....

Allegory: Light Climb

The man crouched beneath the shadow of the great building. Looking up, he perceived the windows diminishing in size. He knew though that as he climbed he would not get smaller. Rather he would grow and eventually erupt. His ropes assembled, his beanie on his head, his mittens pulled tight, he took one more look. This was the last time he would look up at such a sight, with nothing below him. He would always be looking in, but not from far away. When his palm grabbed the first hold, his blood rushed. It hid in the corners of his body. It covered up in the darkest rooms of his chest. Someone else's brain got his body up onto the building. Some other fuel sparked his steps. Now those diminishing in size were the ones below him. He could feel himself becoming wide and immense, so much so that when he falls, he is still on the ground and higher than the building.

DIANE

It’s disgusting!

JARED

I know that! What? You don’t think I know that? I know that!

DIANE

And yet—and yet you are doing nothing about it, doesn’t that strike you as odd?!

JARED

What would you like me to do? What? What!?

DIANE

Do what any normal person would do, Jared, clean your fucking room!

JARED

I did! I did do that, I cleaned it twice! I took everything out, I cleaned every last orifice of my room—

DIANE

Orifice?

JARED

I—I—I got that bug stuff for my bed—I did everything, it’s not my fault!

DIANE

Oh, it must be that they just love you so much that they can’t leave you, is that it?

JARED

My friends won’t answer my calls. They’re afraid that if I hang out with them they’ll get them too, and they can’t take that risk. I had a dream last night, Jar…that I was going around the city with this huge bed bug crawling around my skin, I mean, I wasn’t grossed out by it, it was weird, it was like this bed bug was my friend, like this bed bug was you, like my boyfriend. And I was having a great time. We were holding hands and shopping together and this bed bug was making me laugh, and then it grew even bigger, as big as me, and then it chewed my head off.

JARED

Jesus, Di, you should probably see someone about that—

DIANE

Don’t you get it Jared!? You are the bed bug! You bit off my head…

JARED

I would never bite off your head, that’s ridiculous—

DIANE

Metaphorically…Damnit, Jar, it’s a—

JARED

DIANE

JARED

DIANE

JARED

DIANE

I don’t—I don’t know anymore, but you’re right, healthy relationship, what does that even mean? What we have, this is something, you know, something real, even if it is a little fucked, it’s real.

JARED

Oh, Di, I love you so much…

(JARED runs to DIANE, and DIANE runs to JARED. They embrace, they kiss. All is well!)

DIANE

Whatever this is, we can work it ou—

(JARED slaps DIANE across the face. They separate and DIANE holds onto her freshly slapped face.)

DIANE

JARED

DIANE

A brief description of Mike D's and Finblomes bike trip from Brooklyn NY to Toronto prov Ontario.

Bedford ave at 6 AM the hour was like a delinquent child being looked in on while resting happily in dreams of conquest and torture the onlooker being overwhelmed with complexity of existence and feeling of a compromising endearment. I smiled, the lazy morning sun was cresting through the water towers and project complexes in the not so far distance. We finshised packing and set our selfs forth and our soles free for an adventure.

Only 10 miles in the wrong direction of hill after hill did we realize that the map's indication of the road we were our were insufficient. Despite our blunder, our legs forcibly intake hill after hill to try to make it to the campsite by nightfall. Dusk is approaching, we are 10 miles of hills of away, our energy drained, and car drivers coming awful close to the narrow shoulder. We collapse outside a fancy restaurant in a town with nothing else. After inhaling a meal, a nice family agrees that we can stay on their lawn. 3 miles of night riding down black and numb cornfields with a flashlight for a headlight and we make it. Toast and coffee and friendly dog slobber in the morning.

In the past two days we have encountered many things. Hydro-electric dams abandoned with baby leaches giving greetings. Cliff jumping with locals backflipping and rope diving into gurgling streams. 40.85 miles per hour downhill with comfortable rattles of packs and sprockets. Passing haywagens as we speed down high speed highways. Overflow cranky campsite owners turning down downtrodden travelers unwilling to compromise. Sleeping on government fishing property with artificial mac and cheese dinner.

Looking at my legs i notice a sun burn just on one side, like a couch in your grand parents foyer sun bleached only in one direction taking it's mark from time. we travial as all things do in time moving or not.

And now, we are in the comfy surroundings of Mike's family. And we are set to take off on the next leg of our journey. The Canadian leg.

The central site within the festival will be the Heliocentre, which if you can make it in through the airlock, will be greeted by mad scientists, astronauts and maybe even Galileo himself.
